The addition of “Infected” gamemode to Modern Warfare 3 knocked off Drop Zone from the community playlists angering fans in the process.Earlier today, Activision’s Dan Amrich asked upset fans, via Twitter, to either play Drop Zone in private matches, or politely voice their concerns on the official forums to “let the devs know.” The team behind Modern Warfare 3 took notice of the fan feedback, stating “we hear what you’re saying about missing Drop Zone in MW3 loud and clear!” Unfortunately, Modern Warfare 3 is currently “limited on playlist space,” according to Robert Bowling. However, Bowling assured that they are “looking at solutions for it!” Bowling last month promised to rotate gamemodes in the community playlists. Hopefully, Drop Zone will make its way back to the community playlists as it had an active player base.

Treyarch hasn’t yet forgotten about Call of Duty: Black Ops. Fans are still craving those double XP weekends and 24/7 map playlists. Luckily, Treyarch is here to deliver.Starting this Friday, February 10th at 10am PST until the same time Monday, February 12th, Black Ops players will be treated to another double XP weekend and a 24/7 playlist based on the map of their choice. To find out what map will be featured, you’ll have to head over to the official Black Ops Facebook page to vote for one of the three following:Firing RangeSummitStadiumThe winning map will be revealed this Thursday, February 9th.What map will you be voting to spend your weekend tomahawking noobs and sticking fools with explosive arrows on?

The next Xbox's rumoured move to block used games would be "a fantastic change for our business," says Volition designer Jameson Durall.Writing via the AltDevBlog, the Red Faction: Armageddon man claims the general public don't appreciate how much pre-owned game sales are hurting developers, and welcomes rumours that the Xbox 720 could introduce a platform-wide online pass system - throttling the pre-owned market."There's another big rumor about the next Xbox console that could really start to shake things up... it won't play used games at all," Durall writes."Personally I think this would be a fantastic change for our business and even though the consumers would be up in arms about it at first... they will grow to understand why and that it won't kill them."He adds: "The system is already there for Microsoft, all they'd have to do is use the DLC and codes model they have to tie a game to your Xbox live account.

Teaser time; the latest issue of UK mag PSM3 is promising a look at a “mystery shooter sequel” in its next issue.The tease is complete with a picture of two bullets, the significance of which we couldn’t possibly imagine. It’s also noted that the game will be out in 2012.Speculation is likely to point to the fantastical, then (Black 2! Killzone 4! Bulletstorm sequel!), but we’ll play it safe and say that this is most likely the all-but-officially-announced Medal of Honor 2 or maybe even Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The next issue of PSM hits on March 6 so look out for a full reveal some time around then.
