Default Whey Protein?

Hello General Discussion, I've been working out more often now, an I've noticed muscle gains. But I've heard protein supplements help build muscle an burn more fat. Is that true?

Because I'm looking to slim down a little bit more and build some more muscle.

The protein repairs the muscles quicker, you will burn off lots of fat but that fat will turn into muscle.

I don't know a lot about this type of stuff, but I'm not so sure if supplements help you burn more fat. If you want to lower your body fat, make sure you do cardiovascular activities; go jogging, use a jump-rope, go swimming, play sports, etc. And make sure you eat right; eat the least amount of salt possible, don't eat too many calories, etc. A lot of people don't think it's as important to eat right than it is to exercise regularly, I would say it's the opposite. Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. So if you are trying to lower your body fat while gaining muscle, don't be surprised if your mass increases.

gaining muscle and burning fat are very very very difficult to do, it's much better for you AND your body to either gain muscle, or lose fat, independently.
I use gaspari products, for protein and intra-workout. I prefer the taste and have noticed a difference over other products I have used.. but there's lots of great products out there.

Like was said above, nutrition is very very important.. if you want to purely bulk, you can eat anything really.. because the goal is to stack calories.. but you should be eating healthy regardless because then the cutting phase goes much much easier.

This is how I was told Protein works.

Basically, when you work out, you tear your muscles, then it takes 48-72 hours for the muscle tissue to repair itself, and every time you tear your muscles, more grows back, therefor you see more muscle. But basically, protein helps repair that muscle tissue faster so you can work out more often and therefor grow more muscle quicker.

But make sure you have a proper diet.

As for body fat, I cant help you since i have like a 6% body fat cause of my high metabolism.
