The Humvee is the iconic US military transport vehicle. Called the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), it’s got 4 wheel drive, and is powered by 6.5 liter V8 diesel engine. The Humvee was introduced in 1984, and is still in use today all over the world. Over 100,000 Humvees have been built to date. The Humvee was featured in Battlefield 2, Bad Company 1 and 2, and will return in Battlefield 3. When fans go mad that that the gunner had little to none protection the fans requested that the gunner should have a done around the gunner like real life DICE replied: We will do that in battlefield 3. Also fans requested that we should be able to have more stuff to do on the humvee like switch guns. DICE replied: We will make it possible to pick what gun is on your hmmwv the more you use it the more you unlock such as the 50cal, MK19 grenade launcher, and the TOW2 anti tank missile, smoke screen and better armor. So the humvees you see in the pic can look like urs on BF3.
AAV-7A1 / Amphibious Assault Vehicle
The AAV-7A1, or Amphibious Assault Vehicle, is a tracked, armored amphibious vehicle capable of crossing both land and water. It was introduced in 1972, and can transport up to 25 crew members. It’s armed with either a 40mm grenade launcher, or a 25 mm chain gun, with a .50 caliber secondary machine gun available as well.
Growler ITV
The Growler is based on the Jeep and was introduced in 1999 as a USMC Internal Transport Vehicle, and is mainly used as a vehicle for transport of troops, reconnaissance and towing of mortars and artillery weapons. But was replaced by the HMMWV/HUMVEE but the 2 vehicles will be in Battlefield 3
