I keep seeing users post questions about possibly being banned for modding Skyrim or other Bethesda games so I decided to post real proof that they're okay with it.

In this official podcast they discuss fixing bugs, starting out modding games to becoming developers, questioning why other developers don't embrace modding to further their games, and future planned DLC.

This is just for helpful information and if deemed unnecessary can be removed. If others feel this will actually help people questioning being banned then maybe it will be used as a reference. Happy gaming

I think they only support modding in their game because it is self efficient. Modding their games doesn't cause anything because it has no multiplayer. Other developers don't encourage modding because there games are probably multiplayer and will affect other peoples experience with the game.

Yea I agree since its all about playing fairly. They are working on an Elder Scrolls MMO which I'm sure they will be less enthused about people modding since its solely multiplayer.

Modding definitively adds a few more years to any Bethesda game.

Its like anything else, any singleplayer non-competitive game that can be easily modded is meant to be modded, developers want to see what you guys want from future games

Mate I dont think thats the issue, Microsoft is AGAINST modding. It doesn't matter if Beth is cool with it.

New people just don't listen to the experienced people .....

Not only can microsoft not detect this, but they do not care about this. It is mainly what the publisher feels is over the line when it comes to what microsoft also feels like is over the line, They go hand in hand together.

You are, and dare I say it, completely safe to mod skyrim offline. You will not get banned for it.

Hell, mod it online. No one cares. You will not get banned for modding an SP game. No one has ever.
