Default Hard drive crash for slim?

My girl friend got an error code yesterday. It said E68 when I looked it up it was a hard drive issue. The only ways I found to fix this was on old hard drives not any for the newer drives, anyone know how to fix?

Could just be simply problem where totally reformatting it will fix it. If not your best bet is call MS and they will probably just send you a new one.

Yes a 250 that came with the system. She doesn't mod at all. I don't mod anything for her and that hard drive hasn't ever been taken out a side from when I looked at it yesterday.

Ok how would I do that? (Reformat)

Pretty sure you can reformat it from your xbox. Not sure how though.

NONONONONONONONO.
THIS GUY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT.

First, remove everything from the console (as in, disconnect all connected accessories, including the hard drive). Second, insert the hard drive, then turn the Xbox back on to see if maybe too much power is being drawn for some weird reason.

Didn't work? Figured. Try it in another Xbox.

Didn't work? If you have access to a SATA port on your PC, connect the hard drive (to both SATA and power), restart the computer, then right-click on My Computer and go to Disk Management (or whatever it's called. Currently not running Windows). There should be a large volume there that reads unformatted. If it's there and Horizon detects it, then there should (in theory) be no issue.

If none of that worked, then feel free to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX

Then you will need connect it to your computer via sata and reformat. After you reformat it you should be able to actually format it for use on the xbox 360 by just plugging it back in.

Or take CLK suggestion, MS normally just send you new ones.
