I'm at a friend's house and he has an extra xbox (one of the newer version) I use an old xbox 360, and I brought a hard drive and a transfer cable thinking I could just plug the transfer cable in and use my hard drive on his xbox. It's telling me that it'd have to delete everything to be able to format it for the xbox. Is there a way I could use my hard drive without having to delete everything off of it? I figured I could just take everything off of it, save it to his desktop, format the hard drive, and then put everything back on, but I don't want to do that if there's an easier way.

If he has a hard drive plugged into his extra xbox slim, then with the transfer cable you should be able to just transfer all your stuff from your hard drive to his.
