Would my discs have something to do with it? I have heard that memorex anrent the best and imgburn is designed for verbatim discs?
As far as I know, Verbatim is the best brand to use. I used Memorex discs at first, most of my games would freeze at a point, and it is annoying as f*ck. Buy Verbatim discs, even though they are like 2x more expensive...

Skyrim is an XGD3 game. To burn that, the only difference is the layer break should be on 'Calculate Optimal', say yes to any error message you get, and do not run the game through ABGX, unless if there is a version of ABGX that is compatible with XGD3 ISOs. Sorry for the two week late reply.

Hi m8's, flashed LT-ON phat perfect, burnt some demos OK & burned 3 games at around 6GB to 8GB works, chuffed as hell , but the problem I am having is Skyrim, tried to burn errors all he way clicked ok to all, at the end pf the process "failed" clicked "retry" same, cancelled, then it asked me do u want to finalize disc, "Yes", chucked it in the xbox phat, picture should up, then it said an error ! I am using Verb DvD+L , I will try again tonight, & report on the process I used if it works

You're supposed to change the Layer Break to "User Specified" when burning an XGD3 game, did you do that? If you didn't that's probably your problem. And is Skyrim the only XGD3 title that doesn't work? Or do other XGD3 games work too? If other XGD3 games work, then you should redownload Skyrim from a different place. And btw, you're supposed to use DVDDL discs, not DVDL.

Will it make any difference if i decrypt a copy of my own game and burn it on a separate disc, then use it on my xbox that already has the game installed (with the disc needed)? or wil i have to go through the flashing process? because it all sounds a little complicated to me. sorry, newbie here.

Even if you have the game installed, you can't play it with a burned copy. And if you want to rip an Xbox 360 game to your PC, you need to use a special method, check out this video.
Also, I don't think XGD3 games work with this method.
