skyrim is okay for a couple weeks then it gets overly boring because you run out of stuff to do. BF3 is much better, if you get bored with it you just go troll.

in my opinion i would say to get skyrim, skyrim was my favorite game and i used to think skyrim was gay but then i bought it and it was amazing.
even though it is just single player for now, it was insanely fun, and there is so much you can do in the game.
battlefield 3 is fun too for the multiplayer and playing with friends, but is prefer skyrim.

but the choice is yours.
