Horizon Errors
There can be many reasons why you get this error when loading Horizon.
The most common would mostly be, your Internet isn't working/on. Or your Anti-Virus/Firewall is blocking Horizon's access to the Internet. If you know it's none of them. Try do this:
Quote:
1. Go on CMD and type Ipconfig/flushdns
2. Run Horizon Again
3. If not fixed, allow a exception in all Anti-virus and firewalls.
If you are unable to drag and drop a file into horizon, here is a simple fix. First go down to the Start Menu, type "msconfig" and hit enter. Go over to the Tools tab and change UAC settings or disable UAC, hit apply then OK, then restart your PC/Laptop. You can now drag and drop files to horizon. When you are finished with the tool make sure to repeat the process and re-enable UAC.
When you've finished modding your Profile or Gamesave are you getting this error?
If you are, all you have to do is restart Horizon and "Run as Administrator". If that doesn't work and your loading your Save or Profile directly from the Device, extract it to your Desktop and mod it. Once you've done, save it and transfer it back to your Device. Make sure you overwrite, or it won't mod be modded.
It is usually a .NET Framework error.
If you have .NET Framework installed I suggest using this tool .NET Framework Clean-Up Tool.
I suggest uninstall every version of .NET installed then reinstalling.
Download .NET Framework 3.5 required to run Horizon - .NET Framework 3.5
If you have this is because you've modded too many Profiles or Gamesaves. This isn't permanent and can be removed by an Administrator or Developer easily. Just post in the Horizon Support you've been Banned or Restricted.
This is straight from the thread, thanks Thor. If you would like the link to the stickied thread , it is located here.
Having a problem with Horizon? Let this tool help!
How does it work?
It works by doing things like checking if you have the proper .NET Framework installed, and if not downloading and installing it. Flushing your DNS, disabling UAC, or running the .NET cleanup tool. It can even submit a thread to the 'Ask the Staff' section if you are having any troubles with being restricted from tools.
Over the past month(s) or so, I have seen a lot of people saying they have Avast! and cannot open Horizon. So, today I am here to provide you with a tutorial on how to use Horizon with Avast! Anti-Virus protection. First off I would like to say, if you can use a different Anti-Virus, use it, it will make it ten times easier when trying to use Horizon. Just try to use a different one, but if you cannot, that is fine. And this is why I am here to provide you with a little tip on how to use Horizon with Avast! Anti-Virus.
First off, you want to go down to the lower Right-Hand corner of your screen. It should look some-what like this;
Right-Click the Avast! icon. The icon should look like this;
Once Right-Clicked, something should pop up like this;
Click on "avast! shields control". Something then should pop up looking like this;
When you are there, you can click on the time(s) you want to disable to firewall/anti-virus for so you can run Horizon.
Once you have clicked that, you should be prompted to disable it. It should look like this;
Just click "yes", then you can run Horizon.
You can keep Avast! but always do this to ensure that Horizon will work with-out getting an error on stat up.
I hope this helped you.
Good luck.
Tool Errors
Halo: Reach Ammo And Shields Wont Work
Make sure after you mod your gamesave you click save. This rehash/resigns it so it will work correctly. Some missions, not all but some, require you to get to a checkpoint for the mods to work. Also during some missions if you are at a cutscene your ammo and shields will return to normal. You must save and quit then remod it if you wish to continue. The same thing applies to Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.
If Horizon's Device Explorer is not reading that you have your HDD, MC or USB plugged in,
try running as administrator.
If Horizon still isn't picking up your Device, format your USB on your Computer, and reconfigure it to your Console and try loading it again.
If this happens you should first go to avatar editor and save. This will help the years sync with the servers. Also the years may reset if you recover your Gamertag for any reason. Your years played will not always show up for other people. It depends on if it has synced with the Xbox Live servers.
Delete your account on your Xbox 360, recover and remod it. If it still corrupts post a thread with the corrupted profile.
Recover your Profile, unlock all the Achievements you want, then once you've done. Go to Custermize Avatar on your Console (make sure your signed into LIVE if you want them to sync!) then click Save & Exit. This is the best way for Gamerscore to sync to Xbox LIVE.
If you are unable to find gamerpictures for certain games or it just keeps searching then it means Horizon currently doesn't have any gamerpictures for that game. Make sure you are searching for the Title ID.
What Horizon Itself Includes No Support Included, only tools and what is in Horizon itself. But look here and tell me what is wrong when you were using Horizon itself.
This is only for what Horizon has in it. If you have any problems, look here, then post what you have wrong. Then I will assist you as much as I can. I will do my best to fix your problem. If you don't have Horizon yet, which you should already, it is located here.

Uninstall Avast! and it'll work fine. I suggest using Avira.
I contacted Avast! about this and they haven't responded yet.

Check your task manager for horizon .exe. And I believe there was a problem with avast real time scanning or something like that. Ill find the thread really quick.
Please try to disable Avast by going on Task Manager, then services. Then get the list in alphabetical order, then stop Avast! Antivirus service from running. If this still doesn't work, please uninstall Avast, and use another Anti-Virus.
It worked with Avast on my other laptop but not my new one
Avast is being wierd, if you've had it installed before using Horizon, or before a big update, Horizon will work. If you've recently installed it, and not used Horizon, it will not work. :\
* Type of Problem : Not Loading,, Nothing Happening after double clicking
* OS : Windows 7 x86 (32-bit)
* Antivirus/Firewall : None. Added exception to windows firewall, still not working.
* Errors : None
* Extra Information : "Horizon Beta.exe" pops in the task manager. Memory size starts from 2k and ascedns to 30~40k in 4~5 seconds. Then closes.
i think horizon staff members need to solve the problem and them make a new version to fix it. this is getting way out of control
It's easier said that done. Horizon Developers, do not know the exact problem, so I doubt they know what to fix. I've now emailed Avast to see if they have any information about why Horizon is blocked by their anti virus. In the mean time, try and think what you could do to help this situation!
