Default Jtag help, (whole jtag)

My issue is that my HDD (external HDD plugged in via USB) will not configure correctly with the xbox and i have a performance warning on it so nothing really works for it . So my questions is, is there a way to play XBLA games, add DLC, do everything a formatted HDD can do and not have to format it and get the performance warning?

On xex menu it does not show the Content folder and 0000000000000000 folder at all. But when i plug it into a usb explorer it shows up. SO im in a big screw hole right now and i cannot buy a new HDD so if anybody could help out fully that would be really appreciated!

EDIT: my hdd still can run games and stuff, i just cannot use the "Content" folder or any other folder because of the performance issue. I can add like snes360 to the content folder but it wont show up on my jtag because of the performance issue also. I also heard the freestyle dash fixes all this, is that true? + is there a fix to my problem?
