Default Original 360, Odd Problem

Hey guys,

I've been going through my collection of Microsoft hardware that I've worked on and acquired over the years in order to consolidate the majority of it for sale or trash since I no longer have the time required to do the work.

I have an original Xbox 360 in my possession; release date September 2005 - Xenon motherboard, Blades dashboard, and it's never seen any type of internet connection. I've been away from the scene a while but for those of you who know, this machine can be quite valuable, as it is the only revision that is able to be modified into a JTAG.

Some JTAG work was done on the console, but was never finished; nor was the console booted up while modifications were in progress. I personally removed the modifications this afternoon. The only modifications were the installation and soldering of two resistors and joint connections in accordance with this diagram for the Xenon board:

All of the wires and resistors were removed; I also touched up the joints and made sure that there were no fused connections. All of the joints look to be in fine condition, as do the traces. The only damage that I know is cosmetic, a little scratch here and there on the mobo where I had to get forceful due to an underpowered soldering iron.

Now the fun part! I hooked the console up with necessary components (i.e. drive, RF unit, wind tunnel, OEM fans) and powered it up. Here are the roadblocks I've run into; this is where I need some input from those of you with experience and know how:
  • The RF unit functions properly from what I have been able to detect; however, there are no lights. It can be fidgity with it's connection, but no matter what, the RoL is not visible. While mainly an aesthetic problem, it disables me from deciphering an error code when needed. Such as a time like this. Multiple RF boards have been used with the same result.
  • Video/Sound not present. AV cable is functioning. No picture displayed, no sound emitted. However, the console sits at a calm state when powered on. Fans are functioning correctly and heat output is at a normal level.

If I can get an RF unit to work, I can dechipher the codes myself and take subsequent action, however I'm at a dead end as to why/how the RF unit functions without it's display code. The latter of my problems is most likely just due to an RRoD that I cannot see, no surprise there.

Also, I have 2 other consoles I am looking to get rid of once repaired.
  1. Falcon, error sequence 0013.
  2. Xenon, error sequence 0102.
I know my way around any 360 and have done just about everything to them from repair to enhancement; therefore I don't need any general input on any of these. What I'm looking for is input from a first-hand experimenter on what worked for you and what didn't, and what was done to repair the damage. Hopefully I can get these things up and running and out of here!

Any helpful and experienced input is appreciated!

Signed,

The Lolvonator

EDIT: Got the RF unit to connect with a tad bit of riggin', the error code displayed is a 0110. Feel free to add your thoughts on a remedy!

0110 See Error E20
E20: likely a Ram error, this can be caused by a cold or bridged solder joint on one of the Ram chips.
Credit to Gurvir for the error codes.
