I was wondering if I remove the memory card ports if the xbox will work normally or give me a red light error code. If I can remove them, what is the easiest/best way to remove them. Thank you for your help

Most likely a red light error.
But you can give it a shot, just unsolder the points below the motherboard.

No I need to remove them in order to lay something in their place

Yeah do what Cody said to try and get them off. Here's a list of errors to look through and see if there is anything on mem cards.

my 25watt soldering iron which reaches 600F will not melt the solder on the motherboard, any help?

I had to remove solder off an xbox motherboard once and the only way I got it to work was by holding the side, NOT THE TIP, onto the point until it melted. MY soldering iron is complete **** and I managed to get it to work.
