I do not know a lot about how bots make accounts on sites but I am seeing a lot of spam that has joined this month.
I know someone said we have an updated CAPTCHA and stuff but it doesn't seem to do much then if they are still joining.
Does that mean people actually care enough to make these accounts manually?
What if they are "hacking our mainframe with command prompt"? That's the proper terminology right?
Just wondering what the site can do to prevent it, if anything

They go through manually i think. Some people are just really sad. We can easily prevent it by only allowing like one thread creation every 10 mins or something.

Maybe just the Captcha is sh*t.
I dought they are hacking into the mainframe.

Probably just Captcha, not mainframe.

But yet, they would have to accept the verification email, so probably they are doing it manually.

it does not take a long time to make an account.. You don't see 5 accounts at once spamming, right? The spammers are lazy and just make an account every once in awhile.

We are just using recaptcha and I don't think cheater made it 100% to pass. But you still have to accept the email confirmation which means yes people are still taking the time to make accounts. Nothing we can do about it except ban the ips when we find them.

1 Account per IP. They can always change their IP, but it's more inconvenient for them.
