Since it's release, Minecraft has gained popularity and players, and now threatens to unseat Call of Duty as the most played game on Xbox Live

Minecraft was the third most played game on Xbox Live last week, Microsoft has announced.

The only games to boast more worldwide unique users were Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops.

Mojang's indie phenomenon raced past chart mainstays Battlefield 3, FIFA 12 and Halo Reach in its first week on sale.

Further down the chart, Trials: Evolution continues to put in a very respectable performance for an XBLA title, nestled at 12.

Unsurprisingly, given the fact that it's already sold over a million units, Minecraft was also top of the Xbox Live Arcade sales chart, unseating last week's leader The Walking Dead, which fell to three.

Trials Evolution climbed to two, Fable Heroes held steady at four, closely followed by Fez at five.

That's pretty good. Minecraft has become a HUGE game for 360. Personally I want it to reach the top! Call of Duty must go down!!!

Minecraft is not a "****ty indie game".

And the fact that the top games are played by 12 - 15 year olds says everything really. CoD is a kiddie game.

Imagine if the people playing Minecraft on the Xbox had the same experience as the PC version. DAYUM. Notch got damn lucky with this.

You post the same thing every ****ing time. WE GET IT, PC is better in your opinion. There are some of us that can't enjoy the game due to our PC not being able to run the game. In every thread you say the same damn thing and it honestly annoys the **** out of me.

Sure you think the PC version is better but not everyone likes the PC version or can play it. I like the PC version but like Xbox better because all my friends play it and it's easier to play. So lay off with posting the same **** on every Minecraft thread, no one cares.

What i'm saying is that console players will be a lot happier once they get all the features that are currently in the PC version. If they had that version out now, it'd be doing even better. Gawd.
