It will have something to do with the ending of halo 3. I'm assuming you completed the campaign? Well at the end Chief goes into cryo sleep and the half destroyed ship he and Cortana are in, is orbiting a strange planet. Then some mysterious music starts playing. Just leaves the story on a cliff hanger right there.
