Seems like you bounced the knife off the wall and it bounce behind you, which ironically a guy was chasing you down.
Like all the others say, go into Theatre Mode and watch what happens to the Throwing Knife.

Just go to Theater.

Here is how to get to it,

Ok first of get out of the Xbox Live menu.

Just be in the Multiplayer menu

Go to the Vault

And then Recent Games

Go to the game you did that in, and then play it.
