Not necessarily. It is definitely an option though, and that's assuming you make it to jail.

Is it automatic death penalty for killing an officer???? I heard them mention it in LA Noire and such just wondering if it is still around.

Oh geez, you come to me at 1 in the morning with my halo reach in my little brothers room with him asleep.

Well, it's at their discretion to carry a nonlethal weapon. SWAT is a specialized unit in most departments that people apply for after they've been employed a certain amount of time.
Now if you don't mind sir, i need a team mate for Halo Reach. My GT is ThE EaZy B

Ok, so it is at the discretion of the officer as to whether or not he chooses to carry a weapon? The last thing i would like to know is if you know how officers get selected for SWAT? As clearly they don't go in as SWAT are they sometimes ex military? or just Officers who have shown their use? And thanks for answering these questions, it's really appreciated!

I don't really remember the movie to be honest. Basically, you have to be special to carry a gun on a plane. There are very few people in the US who are allowed to carry one on the plane.
Most of us choose to carry nonlethal weapons like an X26 (taser) and a baton, and sometimes pepperspray.
Anytime there is a shooting, there is lots of paperwork involved. Every shot is accounted for etc.

Oh not politics, at least in Britain our mayor of London does it in style. lol
I see, so for example that Die Hard scene on the plane with him having his gun is actually not correct or was it when it was made? Do you carry a non lethal weapon as well say a taser? And when ever there is say a gun used do you have to account for rounds used and why it was used etc? Like as if the officer is a murder suspect but as harsh so all the interviews?
-
Well now you're getting into politics lol.
Basically, depending on what agency you work for there are different rules about travelling with a firearm. Certain federal officers may carry their weapons on a plane within reach. State/City officers are treated like regular civilians who are travelling armed.
I don't know Nevada's law, or that particular gun, so I can't really comment on whether it's available etc. A lot of military guns like what you see on COD/Movies are not for sale, so no one really has them.

So you have your handgun on your belt for quick reaction and then a high powered rifle in the car for more requiring situations? And what is the ruling for say an off duty officer to take a handgun on a plane? Also in states like Nevada can't you own a M249 Saw etc? Because in my eyes somethings like this seem a bit crazy as such a high power weapon can be owned a general Joe.
