Use img burn if you don't have a ihas download a program called burner max and it will patch your drive, you have to do this everytime before burn.

I burn at 4x. The slower, the better the burn.

Of course you can use them, you can use and DVD+DL discs. But from my experience (and many others), a lot of them will give you a bad burn. IMG Burn or whatever software you're using will give you a notification as it's burning saying there's a "Bad Sector".

Sorry, I haven't heard of any way to mod it (assuming you just mean Dead Rising 1). You could try finding a gamesave and resigning it to your profile, but that's about it.
